I can’t believe we’re jumping into June already!
Today, we’re officially halfway into the year. That’s an almost unbelievable sentence to write. I feel like it’s still January and I’m about to start the nursing program that I ended up withdrawing from halfway through March. Now its June and I’m almost a completely different person now than I was six months ago.
A quick recap of the last six months:
In January, I started the nursing program in Louisiana. My Papaw was in the neurological rehab in New Orleans hardly making any progress after his fall. I was so excited for the future ahead.
By February, the stress of my Papaw’s fall was slowly starting to make an effect on me, but I powered through the best I could.
Halfway through March, I withdrew from the nursing program. The stress of everything was getting too much for me to handle. It had started to affect my performance in nursing school. I was simply not in the right environment for me to thrive in.
At the end of April, I went to San Diego to visit my sister and her family and had a great time.
I made the decision to move to Florida at the start of May. At that time, I wasn’t planning on moving to Florida to live with my aunt and uncle until October. However, after about a week or so of being back home in Louisiana, I decided I couldn’t wait. So I asked my aunt and uncle if I could move in earlier. They, of course, said yes.
So here I am, in Florida in June; only a Floridian for a matter of weeks but infinitely happier.
Now that everybody is all caught up, let’s discuss my goals for June!
- I haven’t read as much as I used to in years, so I want to read 10 books by the end of June.
- I refuse to let my blog be an idle dream any longer. I will make sure it thrives.
- I want to go for a walk every morning and start using the free student fitness center on campus at least three times a week.
- I will hopefully find out at the end of June or beginning of July if I got accepted into the nursing program to start in January 2019.
Be sure to check back at the end of June to find out if I managed to accomplish all of my goals for the month!
