We are two days away from 2019! I can’t believe it, can you? With the new year, comes new goals. Lucky for you, I’m here to tell ya how to SET and CRUSH your goals in 2019!
Goals are totally different than resolutions. Resolutions are OUT, and goals are IN. Resolutions are like wishes; something you want to happen. Goals, on the other hand, you make what you want to happen. Goals require action. Before you can crush your goals, you have to set them.
Set Your Goals
Define Your Why
What are you passionate about? Is there anything you can’t stop thinking about? Something that could change your life? Do you have an important event coming up? A project you want to accomplish? Choose the 3 most important things that come to your mind. You don’t want to set too many goals or else you’ll get discouraged more easily. Three big goals is just the magic number.
Choose A Realistic Timeframe
Sure, it would be AWESOME if you could lose 30 pounds in 30 days or start making thousands of dollars from your blog a week after you start it, but let’s be realistic here. All things take time. So don’t place an unrealistic time frame on your goals or else you’ll be stressed and disappointed.
Break It Into Chunks
Setting goals is a lot like baking a cake, you do things one at a time for an ultimately big (delicious) result. So, breaking up your goals into chunks makes it easier to crush your goals. It’s like a snowball effect, the more and more chunks you crush, the faster you crush your goal.
Alright now that you’ve SET your goals for 2019, it’s time to figure out how to CRUSH them!
Crush Your Goals
Give Yourself A Deadline
By giving yourself a deadline to crush your goals, you’ll be a lot more motivated to crush your goals on time or even ahead of time. It’s a lot easier to say “I’m going to lose 20 pounds in 6 months” than just “I’m going to lose 20 pounds”, right? So give yourself a realistic time frame necessary to crush your goals and then give yourself a set deadline based on that time frame.
Find An Accountability Checker
Whether it’s a person, an app, or crossing out things in a planner or checklist, it’s so important that you find the right method of keeping yourself accountable.
Put your goals somewhere you will see them every day, whether it’s a background for your phone, taping them up on the fridge door, or a sticky note on your desk because staying motivated is crucial to crushing your goals.
